Looking for the ultimate log cabin getaway amidst the natural beauties of Forrest?
Otway’s Loft is everything you think of when you suggest a "wood cabin in among nature". This massive three story hand built cabin was constructed using salvaged materials from a vintage Victorian train carriage and parts from a demolished church. With the main framework consisting of huge 1980’s locally felled logs. This property is surrounded by all natural greenery with stunning local bike and hiking trails in every direction. It consists of 4 seperate bedrooms with the master bedroom having its own claw foot bath tub. This loft lies just off the Main Street of the peaceful town of Forrest which is roughly a 30min drive from Colac.
We were fortunate enough to have the pleasure of staying here for 6 nights, in which we could have definitely stayed more. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave you can’t believe a place like this exist in Australia. As Jess described it being a cozy wood cabin in Canada, this Loft really does make you feel most welcome. We spent a lot of our time here inside curled up on the couch in front of the fire enjoying a good book and or movie. We also enjoyed a lot of time exploring the surrounding areas and going on the breathtaking hiking trails. One which leads you directly to Lake Elizabeth where we went for the most incredible sunrise. You could defiantly spend a lot of time at this location as there is so much to see and is very central to all of these incredible hidden gems.
