Palmer and Gunn also know as “wee tiny” is located in Austinville Valley about a 30 min drive from the Gold Coast. This lush green valley is one of Gold Coasts best kept secrets sitting just below the world heritage listed Springbrook National Park in the Gold Coast Hinterland. The national park features spectacular waterfalls, lush green rainforest, ancient trees and breathtaking views. There is so much to see and do so close to here, making this accomodation the perfect place to either do it all or do nothing at all. The tiny home is completely off grid, being built using reclaimed materials, vintage fittings, antique doors and windows. Inside you will find a queen sized bed, dressed with high quality French linen, a composting toilet and an open-plan bathroom with a claw foot tub to relax in. Outside the build features a veranda with an outdoor kitchen with a 3 burner gas stove and small oven, stove top kettle and toaster, ample bench space, all of your basic cooking utensils, glassware and crockery. Our favourite an antique cast iron wood fired heater that overlooks the creek.
During our stay we definitely couldn’t resist soaking up the breathtaking scenery whilst keeping warm in the wood burner plunge hot tub that sits down near the creek. The sound of nature really does carry through the valley here making it so easy to relax and unwind, enjoying the slow and peaceful world around you. As the sun would set we enjoyed warming up around the outdoor fire whilst preparing and cooking dinner in the kitchen. After some time star gazing we found ourselves moving indoors to enjoy each others company and even though we had moved inside, we still felt so connected to the nature around us. It was such a peaceful stay.
We loved our stay here allowing us to escape into the nature and feel closer to Mother Earth more than we have ever before. Thanks again to the wonderful host for allowing us to experience such a unique stay.
